IN MEMORY OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II
12 September 2022
On the 9th of September 2022, Australians awoke to the sorrowful news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Members of the Royal Humane Society of NSW feel a special loss of Her Majesty being our Patron in Chief.
The Royal Humane Society of NSW was instituted on 25 July 1887 as the National Shipwreck Relief Society. In 1902, His Majesty King Edward VII gave Royal assent for the Society to be known as the Royal Shipwreck Relief and Humane Society of NSW.
In 1968, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II approved the change of name to the Royal Humane Society of NSW in common with all Commonwealth nations.
The Royal Humane Society of NSW mourns the loss of our revered Patron in Chief, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and extends condolences to the Royal family at this sad time.
We join together in this period of mourning for The Queen who will be missed in many immeasurable ways as well as for the loss of her steadfast leadership.
We find comfort in the knowledge of the continuing support of our Patron, her Excellency The Honourable Margaret Beazely AC QC Governor of New South Wales.
